~* Hood to Coast 2012 *~
I survived my 3rd Hood to Coast relay! My team, Pavement Killers, did the relay in 29hrs 8mins.
I think we finish in the top 33% of all the participating teams, which i think is a decent result. But then again, the winner of the relay won in 17hrs! Crazy japanese kids!
I had a great time with my team...and my van especially. Whats not to like when you have 4 pretty ladies in you team?!
I think for the race to be enjoyable, theres 2 important points. The first is that your van members must be energetic and pumped up and the second is that there's smooth handoffs within the van and between the vans.
I must say apart from the handoffs from leg 17 to 18 where I had to jog 1mile to the exchange point and the previous runner had already been there for 10-15 mins already, everything else went really well! The good thing is it isn't even our fault that the cock up happen. It was due to an incident which happen where one of the shops along the streets blew up and the race had to be rerouted which resulted in traffic jams.
Nonetheless, I still had a great time. I think everyone did enjoy themselves, which at the end of the day, IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING:)

~* HTC + 1 year anniversary *~
Its Hood to Coast again! After missing the relay last year, I am back in one of the teams this year and ready to conquer the sleepiness to run again!
This time though, I am not doing it with my buddies from SEA, but I will be doing with my new friends from the WHQ. It's always great to spend time together with your friends, as that helps you to get to know them better...so i am looking forward to knowing them all better in the next 48 hours or so.
On another note, the August 24th also marks my 1 year anniversary in Portland! Geeszz...how time flies! This time last year, i have just arrived fresh from Singapore and ready to start in my dream job. I wasn't able to do HTC because i was just moving here and had admin stuff to settle.
Fast forward 365 days later...i've made so many more friends...learnt so many new things...travelled to so many different places....and I am still in awe of everything. In fact, i've just attended shoe school and have in 2 days learn so much about the 101 of shoe making that i was trying to understand from conversation with my colleagues in the past 1 year!
I will also list some of the more significant places/things i've done since i moved here so that i can reflect about it maybe next year and see if i have done much more. So here it goes:
1. Travelled to europe twice for work, meeting professional football players such as Chicharito, Evra, Ashley Cole, Heitinga, almost the entire everton team, Lassoga, speaking to academy players from Barcelona, Aletico Madrid, Juventus, QPR, Everton, etc, watched premier league games, champions league games, german league games.
2. Travelled to various part of USA--> San Diego, Seattle to watch a Seattle Seahawks games, LA, Vegas, NYC, Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, Sunriver, bought snowboarding gear and had a good winter season in the mountain.
3. Travelled to Ukraine to watch EC12...transiting Istanbul enroute and having a great story to tell!
4. Having had a professional male footballer as my wonderful mentor and colleague in Singapore, i now have am ex- female professional footballer as my colleague! Always enjoyed talking and listening to all their stories.
5. Went for my first Speed dating session. It was interesting..but not too sure if i will want to do it again. it was tiring trying to make conversation with people you don't know. I guess I am friendly and talkative to people i feel comfortable with...but totally the opposite with people i barely know.
6. Will be going to Brazil in October! Can't wait! I will also be doing my first overseas Marathon...NYC marathon in Nov! excited but so not prepared for it.
I can't wait for another awesome year..or years to come! And as point4 shows...theres already some things to look forward to! I also hope to visit more parts of USA such as Hawaii, Crater Lake, Miami, Florida and central america like mexico and the carribeans!
Going to rest and prepare for the race tomorrow...will share pictures and stories when i get back!

~* I'm back! *~
I can't believe it! More than 3 years after my last post...I'm back to the blogging scene!I was just reading the last few entries and I can't comprehend how things have moved on from then till now.
I read about the retrenchment that happened, the role i was offered, and how unhappy/unsure I was about the new role and compensation.
Fast forward to 3 years later, I am now in my dream job, dream role, working as an expat of my dream company in USA. I honestly couldn't ask for anything...but then again, who will complain if they are being paid more!?
I am living my dreams...and I hope they continue for a long time.
In my year 2008 review, I wrote about my grad trip to Old Trafford and how I will watch a game the next time i am there. I'm glad to say i did that...and even more! I met with some of the Utd players, spoke with them...and it was all part of my job!
Things did get better for me in 2009 till now and I am really blessed. I am really thankful to am definitely not taking these for granted.
I am pretty sure this will surely start me on my blogging again now that i sort out my password. I will definitely have no lack of pictures and stories to share while i go explore and experience the america adventure!
As a closing..i will share a few pictures of myself in action during Nike's corporate cup win last weekend.
A milestone for me....its my coming back after my shoulder surgery. I hope and pray i will not have any more of these unfortunate injuries anymore in my life! Its not fun and i certainly do not want it to happen again.
Till the next time...
