~* Really random thoughts *~
Right..let mi warn u first that this post is quite very far fetched and i also dunno wat makes me wanna blog abt this issue but somehow i jus find it disturbing me enough to wanna share it here.
I was on my way to the food court at the shopping center jus below my house when i saw this grp of young teenagers(abt 15-18??)sitting at the entrance of the shopping center.Obviously they were ah beng and ah lians and they were smoking and talking quite loudly as if they own the place.
Now this is wat i was thinking after i walk past them---I am wondering 1st)do their parents noe their children are behaving like this, 2nd)If they noe, did they attempt to do anything to stop/prevent their kids from mixing with the others and 3rd)if they did not noe, wat will their reaction be when they eventually find out.
I was also thinking that wat will my children be(I WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT ONCE AGAIN THAT I AM NOT DESPERATE TO GET MARRIED..haha)in future.I wouldn't wanna pressure them to get all As and stuff but i would hope for them to like at least have a decent education where they can have certs to fall back on unless of cos they have special talents like arts, sports or watsoever then they can go pursue their dreams if they want.BUT i definately noe i wouldn't want them to get involved in this type of Bengs and Lians company. And i wonder how i can teach them to make them not get involved because i have seen alot of pple who were previously very 'guai' but after getting to noe those pple become very bengish or lianish also.
Thinking back, i guess the scoldings and naggings from my parents abt mixing with the right company really helped to a certain extent cos it made us stay away from them and even though i had some frens that were involved in the so called 'gangs', i made sure i din join the gangs and jus hang out with them passively.
Anyway, back to where i am now..i can only hope these trends of bengs and lians wears out and in future by the time my kid pop out, the gang thats in the trend is the nerd gang and not the beng and lian gang.Then again, i might jus oppose them joining the nerd gang too!hahaa
